Jackson Walker represented HASTA Capital in the successful acquisition of The Star, a luxury residential high-rise located in downtown Houston, Texas. Formerly known as the Historic Texaco Building, The Star stands as a testament to Houston’s architectural legacy and urban revitalization.

The Star, located at 1111 Rusk Street, is a 410,000-square-foot multifamily community that blends historic charm with modern living. Originally constructed in 1915 and expanded in subsequent decades, the building was transformed from its original use as Texaco’s Houston headquarters into a premier residential destination, offering 207 one-bedroom units, 79 two-bedroom units, and ground-floor retail space.

Jackson Walker’s real estate and corporate team, led by Vytas Petrulis and Marisela Peña Gonzalez and including Mahira Khan, Anna Elwood, and Lindsey Kellam Valenta, advised HASTA Capital throughout the acquisition process, including the negotiation and documentation of the purchaser’s capital structure.

HASTA Capital, a Florida-based real estate investment firm with a growing portfolio of high-rise and mid-rise multifamily assets across Texas, the United States, and Latin America, continues to expand its presence in the Houston market with this acquisition.
