HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) — A local oyster and caviar catering company is expanding with help from a Hawaii business accelerator program.
Oysters Hawaii, known for its roaming shucking experience and premium event services in Hawaii, California and Las Vegas, brings oysters directly to guests at private parties and upscale events.
The company, led by sisters Julie Chu Fieman and Allison Chu Pokipala, joined HNN’s Sunrise to discuss the business and their participation in Mana Up Hawaii Cohort 11, which they say has helped them grow tremendously.
“It was actually Allie and my former brother-in-law, idea to start a fun mobile trend. And with Allie having a theater background, she wanted to make our seafood concept a very entertaining one.” Fieman said.
Oysters Hawaii is one of 11 businesses chosen from 256 applicants looking for mentorship, business resources and retail development support.
The only oyster and caviar catering company honors the legacy of Hopena Pokipala as it expands its reach and product line.
The company says it’s releasing its signature Smoked Ponzu Sauce, inspired by local flavors and designed to complement seafood while also working as an everyday cooking sauce.
The sauce is available at Foodland stores statewide.
