Guided tour includes multiple historic cemeteries and lunch in Jolon

– The San Antonio Valley Historical Association will host its annual spring tour April 18, offering guided visits to several historic cemeteries in the San Antonio Valley.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. at St. Luke’s in Jolon with registration, coffee, and donuts before carpools depart for tour stops.

The tour will include a visit to Pleyto Cemetery, where participants will hear stories of the former town now beneath Lake San Antonio. Additional stops include Gillett Cemetery, which highlights the founding of the historical association, and Paulsen Cemetery, the resting place of early families dating to the 1800s.

Participants will return to St. Luke’s for a catered lunch before concluding the tour with a visit to the historic St. Luke’s Jolon Cemetery.

The cost is $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers. Reservations and advance payment are required by April 12.

To register, call (805) 472-2780 or (831) 236-4220, or email savha4@gmail.com. Checks may be mailed to the San Antonio Valley Historical Association at P.O. Box 145, Lockwood, CA 93932.
