NEW YORK, NY – Things are about to get uncomfortable for New Yorkers as the heat returns, this time with high humidity and rain mixed in.

Today’s weather in New York City includes scattered showers and thunderstorms, transitioning to likely showers and potential thunderstorms after 3 p.m. The day will be mostly cloudy with a high near 89 degrees.

Heat index values could reach as high as 97 degrees. Expect south winds at 7 to 9 mph. There is a 60% chance of precipitation, with new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, and higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight, showers and possible thunderstorms will continue until around 8 p.m., followed by isolated showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and midnight. The night will be partly cloudy with a low around 76 degrees and west winds around 6 mph. The chance of precipitation remains at 60%, with new precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday will bring a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. The day will be mostly sunny with a high near 94 degrees, and heat index values as high as 98 degrees. Expect southwest winds at 5 to 8 mph. Thursday night will see a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., becoming partly cloudy with a low around 76 degrees and south winds at 3 to 6 mph.

Friday’s forecast includes a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The day will be mostly sunny with a high near 88 degrees. Light and variable winds will become south at 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Friday night has a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms and will be mostly cloudy with a low around 76 degrees.

    Three Thirteen-Year-Olds Flee New Jersey Cops in Stolen Car

    ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department announced the arrest of three 13-year-old males following the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

    The incident occurred late on July 28 when Officers Alex Torres and Michael Regalbuto spotted the stolen Kia Sportage on Maryland Avenue near Absecon Boulevard.

    The vehicle, reported stolen on July 25 from the 500 block of Delaware Avenue, was still in motion when the young suspects abandoned it, leading to it rolling into a curb and a street sign.

    Officer Justice Martin along with other responding officers apprehended the juveniles shortly after their attempt to flee.

    The teenagers, all from Atlantic City, face charges including burglary, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and obstruction of justice.

    They were released into the custody of their guardians, who were issued summonses for allowing their children to be unsupervised past curfew.

    EARLVILLE, MD – A vehicle fire investigation is currently active following an early Wednesday morning incident at a residence in Earlville, Cecil County.

    The fire was reported at 4:33 a.m. at 110 Circle Drive, involving a single-story family home.

    The fire originated in the area of a golf cart located in the attached carport of the dwelling.

    The Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company responded promptly, with 40 firefighters working to control the blaze within 1.5 hours. Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths reported.

    An occupant made the primary discovery of the fire of the home.
