The Houston Dash have acquired U.S. women’s national team forward Yazmeen Ryan in a trade from NJ/NY Gotham FC, per multiple reports.
Sports Illustrated first reported the trade, with The Equalizer adding that Houston was sending an NWSL-record $400,000 fee to Gotham to land the 25-year-old.
The fee is the largest in league history for a trade between two NWSL teams.
Ryan set career bests in 2024 with five goals and five assists for Gotham, earning the attention of USWNT boss Emma Hayes in the process.
The forward made her USWNT debut in October, and went on to make four total appearances for the national team during its end-of-year friendlies.
Ryan entered the NWSL in 2021, playing two seasons with the Portland Thorns before moving to Gotham ahead of the 2023 campaign.
The TCU alum has already won two NWSL titles in her four seasons in the league, lifting the trophy with the Thorns in 2022 before winning another championship with Gotham in 2023.
Ryan is the second USWNT attacker to depart Gotham over the past week. Lynn Williams was traded to the Seattle Reign along with goalkeeper Cassie Miller, with Jaelin Howell, an international roster spot and $70,000 in allocation money going the other way.
In Houston, Ryan will join her former Gotham teammate Delanie Sheehan, who signed with the Dash as a free agent earlier this month.
