The district describes the app as a “one-stop destination” where users can stay updated with announcements, events and stories impacting HISD schools and community.
HOUSTON — The Houston Independent School District has launched a mobile app to keep families, staff and community members informed on district news and updates.
The district describes the “HISD Source” app as a “one-stop destination” where users can stay updated with announcements, events and stories impacting HISD schools and community.
The app consolidates information available on the district’s website, news blog, newsletter and social media.
“HISD Source is a way for the district to connect directly with stakeholders and provide consistent and reliable information and will serve as an educational platform for the bond, back to school updates, and other important initiatives in the months to come,” the district said in a statement.
HISD said the app will also serve as a way to celebrate “good news happening daily” in the district, from student achievements to innovative programs and successes.
“The HISD Source app marks a significant step forward in our commitment to transparent and effective communication with our community,” said Alex Elizondo, HISD Chief of Public Affairs and Communications.
