Attending the June 25 Houston Jewish Professionals networking meeting were (front) Dr. Danna Fertsch, Sue Levy, Wayne Dorris, Dana Little, Debbie Gersh and (back) Jane Shapiro, Marian Bell, Loren Gordon, Syd Waldman and Phyllis Crowell.

The Houston Jewish Professionals (HJP) business networking group held its monthly breakfast meeting on Wednesday, June 25, to brainstorm future opportunities, activities and the group’s strategic direction for the new organizational year.

HJP meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 8.30 a.m., at Tapester’s Grill, 4520 Beechnut St. The networking group brings together Jewish and non-Jewish professionals from across the Greater Houston area to exchange ideas and experiences and build lasting business connections.

June’s meeting also marked a leadership transition. After a successful year of dedicated service, Syd Waldman of Waldman Funeral Care, LLC, stepped down as chair. Members expressed their gratitude for his leadership and contributions.

Taking the reins this year is Loren Gordon, marketing director at Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services and The Medallion Jewish Assisted Residence. Debbie Gersh, owner and designer of Creativities, will serve as vice chair. Continuing as secretary/communications is Phyllis Crowell, Realtor with Beth Wolff Realtors. Waldman will serve as past chair and advisor. The treasurer will be named at a later date.

HJP has an exciting year ahead, kicking off July 23 with guest speaker Steve Winter, CEO of Astoundz. Winter is a seasoned digital marketing executive with more than 25 years of experience helping companies grow their online presence. He is known for integrating SEO strategy with website development to drive measurable business results. His talk will offer professionals actionable tips for maximizing the value of their websites to support business growth.

HJP welcomes professionals from all industries and backgrounds who are interested in purposeful networking and business development.
