The 610 NB ramp to 69 NB is expected to reopen after construction had it closed for years.

HOUSTON — This weekend’s roadwork report begins with some good news for those of you who drive the West Loop/Southwest Freeway interchange. After years of construction, the 610 northbound ramp to 69 northbound will finally reopen. Exact timing is unclear, but TxDOT posted to X that they’re hoping for having it open at some point Sunday.

But while they reopen the connector, crews will have to shut down two northbound lanes of 610 NB at Bellaire and two main lanes of the Southwest Freeway northbound at 610 through Monday at 5 a.m.

While there’s good news for drivers at that interchange, there are other spots that will have drivers hitting the brakes and looking for detours.

  • North Freeway northbound between FM 525/Aldine Bender and Greens Road: Two left lanes will be shut down continuously through 9 p.m. Saturday.
  • North Freeway southbound between Rankin and Greens: Two left lanes will be closed through 9 p.m. Saturday.
  • North Freeway HOV lanes: Total closure through Sunday at 4 p.m.
  • North Freeway northbound between 525/Aldine Bender and Greens Road: Three right lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday
  • North Freeway southbound between Rankin and Greens: Three right lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday.

Crews will also need to close two mainlanes on I-69 Southwest Freeway northbound at I-610 starting tonight at 9pm until Monday at 5am. https://t.co/kORhHzw1S5
