Yahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Vincent Goodwill reports on how the Duke commit stood tall against this year’s Olympic squad at the USA Basketball men’s national team camp in Las Vegas.

Video Transcript

Um I mean, I’m, I’m confident in my ability and my skill.

Um So at the end of the day, yeah, I’m confident in who I am and what I can do.

So I’m just coming out to play basketball.

The last white American born player to come into the NBA with pipe and exceed.

It was Larry Bird that could be facing Cooper flag as he enters his freshman year at Duke for right now.

He’s part of the US select team going against the Olympic team and day one, it was his job to show that he belonged in day two.

He showed he could hang with the NB A’s best tip ins putbacks dunks.

He was among the people that NBA personnel was most impressed with.

After two days of scrimmaging, it would have been nice if the select team had beat the Olympic team to give them a shot in a wake up call, but they played them close in the scrimmage losing by just one Cooper flag was on the floor for some of the biggest plays during that scrimmage that the media was allowed to look at and some of the clips that you’re gonna see on social media, but from here it looks like he belongs and it looks like he’s very well.

The number one pick in next June’s NBA draft.
