The Trenton Ironhawks begin their story in 2026-27. The expansion franchise will bring ECHL hockey back to Trenton while also becoming part of a new development structure connecting the New York Islanders, the AHL’s Hamilton Hammers and the Ironhawks.
Trenton will play at CURE Insurance Arena, but this is not a continuation of the former Trenton Titans. The Ironhawks are a new ECHL organization beginning their first season, giving the market a new professional hockey identity.

Which Islanders or Hamilton players ultimately reach Trenton will depend on organizational decisions. There is no established Islanders-Hamilton-Trenton development history yet, and no specific prospect should be considered Ironhawks-bound until an assignment is confirmed.
Trenton does have current ECHL-side names to know. Forwards Mikey Colella and Ryan Bottrill and defensemen Luke Antonacci, Nick Carabin, Anthony Firriolo and Brennan Kapcheck are among the current roster listings. They should not automatically be considered Islanders prospects.
