Miami began the season as a top-10 team. What were your expectations for the Hurricanes and how did the season live up to what you anticipated for this year?
In the preseason, I predicted Miami to go 10-2, but I definitely didn’t predict the type of 10-2 season the way things unfolded.
Miami started the year with a challenging first half of the season, including non-conference games against Notre Dame, Florida, USF, along with conference games at Florida State and against Louisville. I expected the Hurricanes to go through that part of the schedule with one non-conference loss and then finish the ACC slate with one loss, which would likely put them into the ACC Championship Game with a 7-1 conference record.
UM started the season hot, navigating that first part of the season in an impressive fashion, Miami then stumbled in the middle part of the schedule, but regrouped and started playing their best football in the final four weeks.
Miami did not make it into the ACC Championship Game, but it worked out with the Hurricanes having a head-to-head win over the other College Football Playoff bubble team, Notre Dame.
A season of many twists and turns.
