MATCHUP

The Broncos will return home to take on the Las Vegas Raiders after two consecutive wins on the road. Denver will look to extend its win streak in the team’s first divisional matchup of the season. The Raiders are coming off a season-high 152 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in Week 4 vs. Cleveland, and the Broncos’ defense will look to slow this momentum.

Denver’s defense has excelled through the first four weeks of the season, and the unit currently ranks second in the league in sacks as well as in total yards allowed per game. Defensive end Zach Allen, who had another strong performance in Week 4 vs. the Jets, could look to build upon his consistent pressure as he faces quarterback Gardner Minshew II.

Rookie quarterback Bo Nix, who threw his first career touchdown pass in Week 4, could look for more opportunities to make plays in the red zone. Nix could seek to maintain his connection with wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who currently leads the team with 15 receptions and 192 receiving yards as well as one receiving touchdown.

Denver found a rhythm on the ground in Weeks 3 and 4, and the team could try to rely on the run game again in this week’s matchup. Javonte Williams currently leads the team with 129 rushing yards, and he will aim to build off his strongest performance of the year vs. the Jets. Jaleel McLaughlin, who scored a rushing touchdown in Week 3 vs. Tampa Bay, could look for more opportunities to find the end zone. Denver’s offensive line, which contributed to the Broncos’ rushing success in Week 4, could also aim for another strong performance this week.

INJURY UPDATE

The Broncos ruled out running back Tyler Badie (back). Wide receiver Josh Reynolds (foot), safety JL Skinner (ankle) and cornerback Tremon Smith (hand) were all listed as full participants and not assigned game statuses, indicating they should be available for the matchup.

For Las Vegas, wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring), linebacker Luke Masterson (knee), tight end Michael Mayer (NIR-Personal), tackle Thayer Munford (knee/ankle), cornerback Decamerion Richardson (hamstring) running back Zamir White (groin) and safety Trey Taylor (knee) were ruled out. Defensive end Maxx Crosby (ankle), linebacker Divine Deablo (oblique), linebacker Kana’i Mauga (calf), wide receiver Tyreik McAllister (shoulder) and guard Dylan Parham (Achilles) were listed as questionable.
