Bills Dolphins prediction for Thursday Night Football game
Joe Schad, Palm Beach Post (Dolphins): The Bills are 1st and 7th in the NFL in total offense and defense. The Dolphins are 23rd and 26th. Perhaps getting out of town and playing on a short week and having 99% of bettors — no, seriously — taking the Bills on moneyline wagers, will give Miami an early boost. Miami takes an early lead, then wilts as Josh Allen picks apart the Dolphins’ struggling defense in the second half. We say this isn’t so bad that pundits call for Mike McDaniel’s job in the immediate aftermath of the game. But 0-3 is 0-3. The pick: Bills 34, Dolphins 21.
Sal Maiorana, Democrat and Chronicle (Bills): There are a couple of potentially dangerous elements that could come into play. First, the Dolphins are a desperate team and that’s always something to pay attention to, especially in a division game. Second, the law of averages has to catch up at some point for the Bills, right? They have owned Miami the way New England once owned Buffalo. However, that probably isn’t going to happen on a short week on the road against a Bills team that is already making a strong case that it is the best in the AFC. If the Patriots could put up 33 points, go 8-of-13 on third/fourth down, and average 6.1 yards per play against Miami, the Bills should be able to do more than enough on offense to outscore the Dolphins. The pick: Bills 31, Dolphins 17.
