SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Transportation has announced multiple TRAX stations will be closed over the weekend while I-215 continues its repaving project.
The stations affected include all stops between North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe and the airport. These stations will be closed from Saturday until Sunday.
The Utah Transit Authority in Salt Lake City will have shuttle busses running between the stops. However, UDOT warns travelers to plan for an additional 30-45 minutes when traveling between these locations.
In addition to the TRAX stops impacted, North Temple itself will be closed from Redwood Road to 2400 West from Friday until Sunday.
Crews will be building a temporary bridge deck over the effected area to prevent debris from falling from an upcoming demolition.
In a comment thread left on UDOT’s Facebook post, UDOT clarified that the repaving project will take approximately one more year.
“We expect to wrap next fall,” UDOT said.
