Trump says he’d endorse Jake Paul for political office

President Trump said that Jake Paul would have his “complete and total endorsement” if he ever ran for political office.

The NFL is getting a double dose of the Paul brothers this week.

Days after former NFL quarterback-slash-Las Vegas Raiders minority owner-slash-Fox Sports NFL color commentator Tom Brady slapped Logan Paul at Fanatics Fest, Logan’s brother, Jake Paul, laid out his plans to join the NFL.

“I mean, it’s pretty simple,” Jake Paul said in an interview at Fanatics Fest. “Really all it’s gonna take is just me, after boxing, practicing some routes. I have a couple teams and coaches that I’ve already talked to that are interested in bringing me on to the team. It’s really going to be quite easy.”

Jake Paul tells FOS that he has talked to “a couple [NFL] teams and coaches” who are interested in bringing him on to their roster.

Paul, 29, rose to fame on Vine and YouTube in the early 2010s. After a brief acting career from 2016, he began his pro boxing career in 2020. Since then, he’s compiled a 12-2 record in 14 professional fights, with seven wins by knockout. Paul’s most recent match was against British boxer Anthony Joshua and ended in Paul’s second loss – and his first loss via knockout – as well as a double jaw break.

The pro boxer now has his sights set on another potential career change. Paul said in his Fanatics Fest interview that he hopes to play wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns after growing up in the Cleveland suburbs. He didn’t hold back on his thoughts about today’s NFL and why he believes he could make the leap.

“I think there’s a lot of super mediocrity in the NFL,” Paul said. “A lot of not-good athletes. A lot of people dropping passes on a consistent basis. I have better hands than them, I’m faster than them, I’m stronger than them, I work harder than them.”

JAKE PAUL: Boxer wants to walk on for Stanford football. ‘Dude would get (expletive) rocked’

Paul previously stated his intentions to transition to a football career in a June interview with the a16z Podcast Network. At the time, he set his sights slightly more modestly: a college football debut as a walk-on.

“I do have NFL aspirations after boxing,” Paul said in the interview. “I want to play slot receiver, and so I think to get that experience, in college first would be good so I could walk onto the Stanford team.”

The NCAA Division I Cabinet’s approval of a new, age-based eligibility model – a five-year window after an athlete’s high school graduation or 19th birthday, whichever comes first – would present a significant roadblock in Paul’s vision. He’d also need to secure admission into Stanford and cut weight to compete as a slot receiver.

Another notable hurdle for Paul is the current makeup of the Browns’ wide receivers room. Cleveland has a competitive receiving corps entering 2026. Veterans Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman will be competing for targets this year alongside second-year Isaiah Bond and rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, as well as second-year tight end Harold Fannin Jr.

Rookies are due to report to Browns training camp on July 23, and the regular season starts on Sept. 13.

Paul told ESPN’s Pat McAfee on July 15 that he was still recovering from his broken jaw but would be cleared to spar again soon. He does not currently have a future fight scheduled, but he told McAfee he was in talks with multiple potential opponents.
