Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt has recently released his list of the top 10 head coaches in college football prior to the 2026 campaign.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer was not featured on Klatt’s list, one which saw Indiana’s Curt Cignetti sitting in the top spot. DeBoer was among the first names that Klatt mentioned on his show, “The Joel Klatt Show,” as one of the first coaches just outside the Top 10.

Formerly at Washington, DeBoer took over the head coaching duties at Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement in 2024, as DeBoer led the Tide to a CFP win and an SEC Championship Game appearance during his second season in Tuscaloosa.

DeBoer and the Tide held an overall record of 11-4 in 2025, as Alabama has continued to improve each season throughout his first two years as the Tide’s head coach. DeBoer was nothing short of elite at Washington prior to taking the job at Alabama, and will now look to make a statement during the 2026 campaign, starting Sept. 5 vs. East Carolina, as Alabama looks to secure national championship No. 19.

Following is Klatt’s list of the Top 10 head coaches in college football entering the 2026 season.
