Justin Herbert has always been highly-respected by his peers in the NFL, but that respect looks to have taken a sharp turn upwards with his latest placement in the 2026 NFL Top 100 rankings.
This week, Herbert was unveiled as No. 39, his highest ranking of his six-year career and a big jump from No. 56 a year ago. Despite see a massive regression in turnovers, Herbert showed the entire league what he’s made of while playing behind the league’s worst offensive line. Winning 12 games and punching your ticket to the playoffs is difficult, but he did it with a broken hand while running for his life week-in and week-out.
Herbert still finished the season tied for seventh in passing touchdowns (26) and ninth in passing yards (3,727) while also adding 498 rushing yards (second most by a QB) and two more scores.

This is a type of play that has not been a fluke through Herbert’s career. He’s been a highlight reel since his rookie season and it seems like that consistency has finally broken through to the rest of the league, regardless of what anyone else wants to say about his lack of playoff success.
