Reno, Nev – Nevada Track and Field concluded competition at the Battle Born Classic, Saturday, highlighted by Annalies Kalma’s school record breaking 400m race.

Day two of the Battle Born Classic got off to a fast start with the 400m kicking off the action. Annalies Kalma broke her school record once again, running a 51.81, the first sub 52 400m time in Nevada history. Kalma took out first in the competition and sits in #9 in the NCAA, a prime spot for NCAA Regional qualification. Kylee Parsons set another personal best, running a 54.87 to place sixth, the fifth best time in Nevada school history. Malena Galvan ran a strong race, running a 56.09, just shy of her personal best to place 12th. Rounding out the Pack 400m sprinters were Jasmine Harris (58.40) in 24th, Leylah Diaz (59.32) in 29th, and Caitlynn Holt (1:00.79) in 35th. 

The high jump competition ran alongside the sprints, with Mary Casserly taking second the B section with a jump of 1.64m. Hazel Gaspaire (1.69m) and Stina Larsson (1.64m) were the Pack representatives in the A section, taking out 9th and 11th.

The 800m ran next, with Halyn Senegal leading the way for the Pack, running a time of 2:12.22 to place third, finding some form prior to the conference meet. Kylee Denver also ran a strong race, finding pace in the final lap, placing fifth with a time of 2:13.01. Rounding out the 800m runners were Pack distance runners Mary DeMartini (2:18.22) in 14th, Skylar Bennett (2:21.40) in 24th, Natalie Roberts (2:22.51) in 28th, and Tristan Garner (2:26.81) in 31st.

The Pack had seven representatives in the 200m, led by Annalies Kalma who won the event with a time of 23.37. Magdalene George also ran a quick 200, placing fifth with a time of 23.75. Kylee Parsons was the next top 25 finisher for the Pack, running a 24.55 to finish 21st. Rounding out the Pack finishers in the 200m were Malena Galvan (56.09) in 39th, Leylah Diaz (59.32) in 60th, Jasmine Harris (26.23) in 63rd, and Caitlynn Holt (27.15) in 73rd. 

The 4x400m relays rounded out competition at the Battle Born Classic, with the Nevada A relay team consisting of Kylee Parsons, Halyn Senegal, Malena Galvan and Annalies Kalma putting on a very strong performance winning the event, running a 3:38.50, just shy of their best and second best all time. The Nevada B team, Jasmine Harris, Kylee Denver, Leylah Diaz and Oke Gift Ovedje ran a 3:55.31 to finish 10th. The Nevada C team, Caitlynn Holt, Mary DeMartini, Natalie Roberts and Skylar Bennett ran a 4:05.91 to finish 17th. 

The Pack complete their regular season meets and will look towards the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships, February 26-28.
