UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison had a fiery response to Ronda Rousey’s viral press conference rant about her.

UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey and women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison, despite their history in Judo, aren’t the best of friends. Years after they squared off as top prospects at the 2005 U.S. Judo Championships, tensions remain high between Harrison and Rousey, who have both found success in Mixed Martial Arts.

Harrison earned Rousey’s former title by defeating Julianna Pena at UFC 316 last year, and was scheduled to fight her former foe, Amanda Nunes, at UFC 324 before withdrawing due to injury. Despite the setback, Harrison vs. Nunes is expected to take place sometime later this year.

In the meantime, Rousey will appear in MMA for the first time in almost 10 years when she faces fellow legend Gina Carano in a Netflix main event next month. At a press conference earlier this week to promote the fight, Rousey took some time to verbally taunt Harrison, after the UFC women’s bantamweight champ accused her of lying about some elements of her Judo career.

After Rousey was asked at the press conference to respond to Harrison’s claims, she went on a nearly five-minute attack against her former Judo opponent, mocking Harrison’s neck injury and slamming her ‘lack of charisma’. It didn’t take long for Harrison to take notice.

In a recent tweet, Harrison appeared to respond to Rousey.

“FIGHT ME DEN,” Harrison posted.

In a follow-up tweet, Harrison threw a veiled shot at Rousey’s claim that her upcoming fight with Carano is the biggest fight in women’s MMA history.

“Good morning [Amanda Nunes]! I can’t wait for us to have the greatest fight of all time and take women’s MMA to a whole new level!” Harrison said.

“The best vs. the GOAT!”
