DENVER — Country music superstar Kenny Chesney is preparing for a concert at Colorado’s largest stadium.

Chesney will perform at Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday on his “Sun Goes Down” 2024 tour.

The stadium concert will feature support from Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker.

This is the sixth time Chesney has performed at Empower Field at Mile High, the most of any performer in the stadium’s history. Chesney last performed at the Broncos’ stadium in 2022.

“I wanted a name that suggested — obviously — when all the good stuff starts to happen. The one thing I’ve learned about ‘No Shoes Nation’ and these stadium shows is they start the good times early and they just keep it going,” Chesney said of his 2024 tour name. “But we all know, when the sun goes down, that’s when people really get loose and enjoy themselves.”

RTD light rail

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will be running its regular service on its light rail lines that service Empower Field at Mile High.

Before and after the concerts, RTD said it will have regularly scheduled service on the D, E, H and W lines, which serve the stadium, as well as A, B, G and N lines which provide service to Union Station.

RTD customers can download RTD’s Next Ride app or use the trip planning tool and type “Morgan Wallen” in the destination field. Starting Thursday, RTD’s Trip Planner will show transit options in real time to the concerts.

RTD bus service

RTD recommends concertgoers purchase light rail and bus tickets before the show and use the RTD Mobile Tickets app.

On-street Parking

Fans should watch for posted parking restrictions around the stadium and surrounding neighborhoods. Denver’s right of way enforcement agents will enforce posted parking regulations in the area.

Vehicles that park without appropriate permits will be cited and towed to a temporary impound lot in Denver at 2000 W. 3rd Ave.

Carpool

Concertgoers can consider carpooling either with a designated sober driver or a ride share service. Fewer cars on the roads and highways means less traffic and can help reduce the number of concert-goers that need to utilize street parking.

Bike

Empower Field at Mile High is located adjacent to Denver bike paths, and it’s equipped with more than 300 individual bike racks. Visit DenverGov.org/BikeMap to plan your route or pick up a free copy of the Denver Bike Map.
