LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – The Kentucky Men’s Basketball team is set to host Wichita State in the two programs first-ever meeting in the regular season.
Kentucky will host the Shockers on Friday, November 27.
The teams met in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2014 and 2017, both won by Kentucky.
The 2014 game in St. Louis was viewed by many as one of the top games in NCAA Tournament history.
Wichita State, a No. 1 seed, entered the game 35-0. Kentucky, a No. 8 seed, won 78-76 after WSU point guard Fred VanVleet missed a three-pointer at the buzzer.
Andrew Harrison led the way for the Wildcats in that matchup, with 20 points, and Aaron Harrison also racked up 19 points of his own.
TV designation and tip time have not been announced.
