After smashing Texas A&M in one of the biggest shockers of the 2026 season thus far, the Kentucky Wildcats are moving on up in the college football rankings.
In the new AP Top 25 Poll, Kentucky received 98 votes, the second-most of any team outside the top 25. That means the Wildcats are essentially ranked 27th in the nation entering Week 4. AP Poll voter Dave Preston had Kentucky ranked 17th.

Despite getting thrashed by Kentucky, Texas A&M did remain in the poll, checking in at No. 23 overall.
As of now, Kentucky’s next ranked game comes at home vs. No. 10 LSU in Week 6.
In the latest Coaches Top 25 Poll, the Wildcats didn’t get quite as much love as the AP Poll, but they still received 54 votes, the fifth-most of anyone outside the top 25. That means Kentucky is effectively ranked 30th in this poll. The same ranking has the Aggies ranked 20th.
Elsewhere, ESPN FPI has Kentucky ranked 36th entering Week 4, a 15-spot rise from last week.
Finally, DRatings also has the Cats ranked 36th.
