Earlier today, 27-fight Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran King Green withdrew from UFC 319, scheduled for this weekend (Sat., Aug. 16, 2025), due to an injury. He was set to face fellow UFC veteran Diego Ferreira in the “Prelims” headliner at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Green posted a statement on his Instagram Story hours after the news broke

“I worked so hard to get here, so hard. I went through a lot of bullshit to get here,” Green said. “Back in the day, I’ve had pull-outs, but somewhere along the line, I said I would never pull out of a fight again. If I have to f—king limp my ass there, I’ll limp myself into the cage, but I won’t pull out.”

“This one is a little different. I can’t even f—king walk, guys,” Green continued. “If I had a broken hand, I would say anything, I’d just fight. I’m sorry to anyone that I let down. I let myself down even more; it just sucks. I got people who look up to and need me. I got the crutches here, it is what it is…I’m really sorry.”

Green (32-17-1) is riding a two-fight losing streak, getting finished in the first round in both of them. In his most recent outing, he was on the end of one of the best knockouts of 2025, a spinning wheel kick from Mauricio Ruffy (watch highlights)

The exact injury that Green is dealing with is currently unknown at this time.
