Attention Kmart shoppers!

If that phrase brings back nostalgic yearnings to head to a blue light, there’s a bit of good news for Florida residents. But just a small bit.

The Sunshine State is home to the last — albeit small — Kmart in the United States.

Kmart closed its last full-sized store in Bridgehampton, New York, Sunday, Oct. 20.

Where is the Florida Kmart store?

The last remaining Kmart is located in the Kendale Lakes Plaza, 14091 S.W 88th St., in Miami.

It’s a small store with a limited selection.

Yelp.com/biz/kmart reviewers said Kmart leased the main building to an At Home store, maintaining the former garden section for Kmart shoppers.

The Miami Herald described the store, what’s on and what’s not on its shelves, along with a photo of what’s there as of August 2024.

It opened on Nov. 3, 1977, according to malls.fandom.com.

How many Kmart stores were in Florida?

There were more than 170 Kmart stores in Florida after the first one opened in the early 1960s, according to MyFloridaRetail.

Are there any other Kmart stores anywhere?

While the Miami store is the last one in the continental U.S., there are three Kmart stores in the U.S. Virgin Islands and another in Guam, according to malls.fandom.com.

Last full-sized Kmart in US closed in New York

Sunday, the last full-sized Kmart store closed in Bridgehampton, New York. The store was located about 95 miles east of Manhattan.

Sears, Kmart on their last legs

At its peak, Kmart had more than 2,000 locations in the U.S. and was among the nation’s retail giants.

Kmart merged with Sears in 2005. The combined companies fell behind as e-commerce grew and consumer preferences changed.

Sears and Kmart have closed more than 3,500 stores and cut about 250,000 jobs in the past 15 years.
