PHOENIX – A coffee shop with a kindness-guided mission is now open at the Kierland Commons shopping center in Scottsdale.
The soft opening for Arizona’s first La La Land Kind Café started last week and runs through Friday.
A grand opening celebration with gifts and prizes, while supplies last, is scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kierland Commons is located on the west side of Scottsdale Road between Greenway Parkway and Kierland Boulevard. The new coffee shop is near the center of the shopping center, behind Madewell.
What is La La Land Kind Café’s mission?
The Dallas-based business, which is affiliated with the La La Land Foundation nonprofit group, has a goal of promoting kindness. One way it does that is by hiring and mentoring young adults who are aging out of the foster care system.
The shops feature an all-white design with splashes of bright yellow in the decor and coffee cups.
“La La Land was about creating this heaven that someone walks into and you say, ‘Hey. This is how the world should be,’” founder Francois Reihani told Forbes in an article published in May.
The first La La Land Kind Café opened in 2019. There are now over 20 locations in Texas, California, Tennessee and Arizona.
Several more shops are in the works, including another Valley location at 44th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix.
