GAINSEVILLE, Fla. – Former Florida All-American outfielder Wyatt Langford swiped his 20th bag of the season with the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, effectively joining the 20-homer/20-steal club for the 2025 MLB season.

In accomplishing the feat at just 23 years of age (and 305 days), Langford is the youngest member of the 20-homer/20-steal club in Rangers franchise history. The Trenton, Fla. native is also the first Florida Gator to ever slug 20 homers and steal 20 bases in the same season.

In the midst of a breakout sophomore campaign with Texas, Langford has played in 130 games while batting .243/.343/.429. That has translated to a .772 OPS and 124 OPS+, indicating Langford has been 24% better than the league-average hitter this season. The second-year slugger has also totaled 21 homers, 25 doubles, 72 runs and 61 RBI in addition to his 20 stolen bases through Sept. 16. Langford has been a force at the plate while providing Gold Glove-caliber defense in the outfield, logging a .993 fielding percentage and four outfield assists in center and left field.

Langford was drafted fourth overall in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft by Texas after an all-time great career in Orange & Blue from 2021-23. As a Unanimous First Team All-American in 2023, Langford was also named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team, a Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist and First Team All-SEC after hauling in All-American and All-SEC accolades as a sophomore in 2022.

All told, Langford slashed .363/.471/.746 across 134 career games at Florida. He totaled 47 home runs, 37 doubles, 156 runs, 120 RBI and 16 stolen bases. His .746 career slugging percentage ranks second in UF baseball history behind Jac Caglianone. Langford was also reliable in the field, making just one career error in 233 chances for a .996 fielding percentage.
