LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — Las Cruces police and city leaders are inviting business owners in the El Paseo District to a town hall meeting Tuesday focused on safety and long-term planning for the area.

The Las Cruces Police Department, working with city leadership, will host a Business Alliance Town Hall on Tuesday, April 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Las Cruces City Hall, 700 N. Main St.

The meeting is aimed at engaging business owners in the El Paseo District and surrounding areas and will center on strategic planning and goal setting within the business district.

Police will also outline stratified policing efforts currently underway and provide an overview of data-driven strategies being used to address ongoing challenges, including high call volumes and recurring issues impacting local businesses.

Organizers said the discussion will include how businesses can adapt to ongoing changes, offer feedback and partner with the city to improve safety and economic stability in the area.

Business owners, operators and community stakeholders are encouraged to attend and participate.
