LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas is among the latest Nevada cities to consider an “alcohol to go” ordinance and are working to get feedback from local businesses to move forward.
The latest efforts come a year after the “Alcohol to Go” Bill, Assembly Bill 375 was passed. The bill allows delivery of mixed drinks through popular delivery services and apps.
The bill also mandates a range of safeguards: any mixed drinks must be in a sealed container. Each purchase would require verification of customer I.D. and age, and all delivery drivers must have an “alcohol education card,” known in Nevada as a TAM card.
Nevada is the 31st state to allow restaurants to deliver mixed drinks.

Reno joins Las Vegas as the latest cities to explore the creation of an ordinance, the Nevada Restaurant Association tells FOX5. Both cities are in the initial stages of collecting feedback from businesses.
“At a time when businesses, especially restaurants, are struggling, like this would be a great thing to give us an additional revenue stream to help us grow and make additional money,” said Kristen Corral, owner of Tacotarian, who pushed for the state bill.
According to the restaurant association, businesses could explore opportunities to deliver drinks to gatherings and parties small and large; the association asks cities to permit customers the ability to order in large volumes, just as buyers would purchase in bulk at a typical liquor or grocery store.
The City is getting feedback from local business owners through Thursday. According to presentation documents from a City virtual meeting on the issue on Wednesday, an ordinance could be introduced in August.
