On April 16, 2026, LATAM Airlines confirmed the final configuration of its future Airbus A321XLR fleet.

The aircraft, which the Latin American carrier is set to start receiving from 2027, will seat 170 passengers in a two-class cabin encompassing Premium Business and Economy.

The Premium Business cabin will be fitted with Thompson Aero Seating VantageSOLO full-flat seats on a 1-1 layout, offering direct aisle and window access to all passengers – a first for a single-aisle aircraft in Latin American.

In turn, Economy Class will be fitted with Recaro R3 seats, laid out in a typical 3-3 configuration.

The new long-range single aisle aircraft, of which LATAM Airlines has 10 on order, will also be the first on the Latin American continent to feature seatback screens.

In addition to its inflight entertainment platform, LATAM Airlines is also planning to offer inflight high-speed broadband.

To define the concept and aesthetics of the new cabins, the Latin American carrier has worked with British design studio PriestmanGoode and seat manufacturer Thompson Aero Seating.

The cabins come as part of a broader effort to upgrade the passenger experience across LATAM Airlines’ whole fleet. This has included a US$360 million refit of the carrier’s Dreamliner fleet, including the revamp of Business and Economy class cabins and the introduction of a new Premium Economy offering.

LATAM Airlines has also been investing in updating some of the ‘soft’ elements of its premium offering, developing a new service protocol and introducing new inflight catering options.
