In a strong show of support for hometown newspapers and the small businesses that rely on them, Representatives Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) and Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.) have reintroduced the Community News & Small Business Support Act in the 119th Congress.
This bipartisan legislation is designed to help locally owned and independent newspapers continue to serve their readers — whether through print, digital or other emerging platforms — by providing much-needed financial support for both publishers and advertisers. The national media is excluded from support in this bill.
