The Feisty Collective, a Houston LGBTQ+ market and gathering space, has closed its Heights storefront to become a nonprofit organization focused on supporting queer artists.
Since September 2024, The Feisty Collective has been a hub for Houston’s queer creative community at 1901 Lawrence, where artists and local vendors could sell their works, and small businesses could connect with customers. The collective has also partnered with other organizations, such as Tony’s Place, to host galleries for local artists.
In a post on its official Instagram page, owner Kris Owens said Feisty would be closed over the summer as it transitions into a nonprofit aimed at supporting the community. Owens couldn’t be reached Sunday for further details.
But she assured the community: “We’re not going anywhere,” Owens said in the Instagram post, noting that the aim is to open a new location in the fall.
