Make sure you stay weather aware. Many severe thunderstorm warnings were issued throughout the evening. Torrential rainfall from those severe storms created a flooding risk for several areas.

In Atlanta, one person had to be helped out from a vehicle stuck in water.

The National Weather Service in Atlanta reports flash flood warnings across most of Cherokee County and Forsyth County, extending southward over Cobb County, most of Fulton County, and portions of DeKalb County and Clayton County.

Flash flooding is especially significant across Grant Park, Zoo Atlanta, East Point, Hapeville, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, College Park and Forest Park. The flooding is impacting traffic along Interstate 75.

RELATED STORY:

The storms also caused fallen trees and power lines. More than 33,000 Georgia Power customers have no power as of 9:07 p.m., and more than 8,000 Georgia EMC customers have no power.
