Building connections and working collaboratively are a few habits that put the Valley ahead of other regions in terms of attracting new business to the area, according to Christine Mackay, the new president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.

For the past 11 years, Mackay has been the community and economic development director for the city of Phoenix and helped to facilitate more than $190 billion in capital investment in the city and more than 100,000 new jobs, according to a press release.

In October, Mackay, 63, will become the new president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, the group announced in August. She will replace Chris Camacho, who left the role in June.
