Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas promises a vibrant mix of music, culture, and cuisine over three days, starting February 13 and ending on February 15.
BEAUMONT, Texas — Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas will feature three days of outdoor concerts on two stages starting Friday, February 13 with performances ranging from Zydeco to Taylor Swift tributes and a dedicated Carnival Latino Day.
The festival kicks off Friday, February 13, when the gates open at 5 p.m. volunteer Tammy Welch announced during a visit to the 12News studios on Wednesday. The main stage will showcase Chip Darby and the Vintage Soul, Fred Bell and the Platinum Players, and Texas Eagles tribute. The gold stage will feature local acts Aces Rock and Rhythm and Steven Williams Zydeco.
Saturday’s lineup begins at noon with an early bird ticket special. The main stage will present Reputation, a Taylor Swift tribute band, followed by Brian Keith and the Zydeco Legacy, Kaitlyn Kohler, and John Foster, an American Idol runner-up. The gold stage will host the Bayou Renegades and the Alley Cats.
“I’m told he’s wonderful. I haven’t seen him myself, but I can’t wait,” Welch said of Foster’s performance.
Sunday will be designated as Carnival Latino Day, with Latino music on the main stage throughout the day. The gold stage will feature Silky Reed R&B and Rozy from Austin, Texas.
Admission costs $15 for Friday night. Saturday offers a new early bird special of $10 for entry between noon and 4 p.m., though attendees cannot leave and return with that ticket. After 4 p.m., Saturday admission increases to $20.
“The parades, just seeing the people out there, I see people that I haven’t seen since last Mardi Gras or, you know, it’s kind of like a family reunion,” Welch said when asked what she looks forward to most.
The event will also feature various food vendors offering Cajun and Mexican cuisine. All concerts will be held outdoors.
