The Dallas Mavericks aren’t done making moves.
Former Kings forward Kessler Edwards has agreed to a two-way contract with the Mavericks, according to a report from The Athletic on Friday. With a two-way deal, Edwards will be able to split time between the Mavericks and their G League affiliate, the Texas Legends.
Edwards has spent the last three years with the Kings and Nets. In 138 career NBA games, he has averaged 3.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game.
Brooklyn selected Edwards with the 44th overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft out of Pepperdine University.
During his senior season at Pepperdine, Edwards averaged 17.2 points while shooting 49% from the floor and 38% from the arc.
The Mavericks agreed to a one-year deal with guard Spencer Dinwiddie earlier this week, solidifying their roster at 15 players. Edwards will occupy one of the Mavericks’ three two-way roster spots next year.
