After two exciting games, Cooper Flagg’s time in the NBA Summer League has come to an end. The Dallas Mavericks rookie has been reportedly shut down by the team for the rest of the summer, per NBA insider Marc Stein.

Flagg, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, played in only two Summer League games: a win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, and Saturday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

In an episode of DLLS Sports on Saturday night, Stein said that the Spurs game was Flagg’s last for the Summer League, and that he was not scheduled to play in Monday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Flagg put up a massive performance in his second game with Dallas on Saturday, scoring 31 points off a hot second quarter. Despite Flagg’s shooting, the Mavericks fell short of No. 2 overall pick Dylan Harper and the Spurs in a seven-point loss.

The strong showing came after Flagg struggled slightly in his Mavericks debut on Thursday. The 18-year-old forward put up 10 points while shooting 5 of 21, calling it “one of the worst games of my life” after the game.

“Not up to my standard, but I’m going to improve,” said Flagg. “I’m going to be all right.”

Now, we’ll have to wait until the regular season for Flagg to make his next appearance.
