Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins is spearheading the Elevate Small Business Conference, an event free of charge aimed at providing local entrepreneurs the tools and connections necessary to amplify their business’s presence and capability. According to a press release by Miami-Dade County, the full-day conference will host a range of experts and funders to offer actionable strategies in AI, marketing, operations, and finance. The event is set out to help small businesses by not only imparting knowledge but also facilitating networking opportunities and potential funding avenues.
Taking place on the Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus at the Chapman Conference Center, the event endeavors to create a platform for entrepreneurs to elevate their enterprises with the theme of Connect. Grow. Lead. Business owners will have the chance to meet with lenders who are prepared to support their growth initiatives and, importantly, will leave with immediately applicable plans for their business operations. The conference will kick off at 9:00 AM with opening remarks, and it will extend until 5:00 PM tomorrow.
Joining Commissioner Eileen Higgins are notable figures like Honorable Oliver G. Gilbert, III, Miami-Dade County Commissioner, and Honorable Ralph Rosado, City of Miami Commissioner and Chair of the Miami Downtown Development Authority. Other participants include Alejandra Y. Castillo, former Assistant Secretary of Commerce; Manny Cid, Senior Advisor for Economic Opportunity in Miami-Dade County; Vicente Pimienta, Florida Grow with Google Coach; and a spectrum of local small-business owners, lenders, capital providers, and technical-assistance partners, all prepared to share their expertise and experiences.
The curated panel discussions and workshops promise to be interactive, featuring a segment labeled “Making the Money Work,” which pairs the financial discussion with a more casual coffee and pastelito break. The hands-on approach of the conference, including the provision of free professional headshots and personalized business coaching sessions, reinforces Miami-Dade County’s commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for its entrepreneurial community.
Further details about the conference are available on the Miami-Dade County Government website. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the unique offering of insights and resources that will be made available.
