Travis Steele unpacks end of Miami RedHawks’ historic season
After a tough loss to Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament, Miami RedHawks head coach Travis Steele took a minute to reflect on a historic season.
Preston Copeland, a 6-foot-9 forward who played his freshman season for the Ball State Cardinals, has committed to the Miami University RedHawks, the team announced April 14.
Copeland, who reportedly visited Miami and High Point, averaged 4.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game in the 30 games in which he played at the RedHawks’ Mid-American Conference rival, making 24 starts.
Copeland played just 15 minutes, grabbing two rebounds without a field-goal attempt in the Cardinals’ 86-77 loss to the RedHawks in December 2025.
Copeland played in high school at Combine Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Earlier in the day, forward Brant Byers, the RedHawks’ second-leading scorer during the 2025-26 season, reportedly committed to Penn State.
