Here are today’s minor moves and standard gameday practice squad elevations heading into Week 9’s Sunday slate of games:
Arizona Cardinals
Carolina Panthers
Chicago Bears
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts
Kansas City Chiefs
Las Vegas Raiders
Miami Dolphins
New Orleans Saints
New York Giants
New York Jets
Philadelphia Eagles
Seattle Seahawks
Washington Commanders
The Cardinals are getting Adams back off injured reserve this weekend. The former Illinois third-round pick was serving as the team’s full-time starter at right guard after starting 16 games over his first two years in the league.
With Chau Smith-Wade and Malcolm DeWalt IV standing as the only two healthy cornerbacks remaining on the Panthers 53-man roster, Carolina will ask Thornton and Wilson to contribute off the taxi squad this week. Also, the Panthers didn’t yet activate offensive guard Brady Christensen off IR, so The Athletic’s Joe Person expects Torricelli Simpkins or Corey Bullock to start in place of injured left guard Damien Lewis tomorrow.
The Saints surprised today with their release of the former third-round pick out of TCU, Miller. A mixture of injuries and trust issues kept Miller from ever appearing in more than half of New Orleans games in four years with the team, and while averaging about seven games per season, he never rushed for more than 200 yards in a single campaign and only once found the end zone twice in a year.
The Chiefs, Raiders, Dolphins, Jets, and Eagles all have players using their third and final standard gameday elevations on their current practice squad contracts. In order for Harris, Keenan, Gonzalez, Banks, and Mitchell to appear in another game for their respective teams after this week, they will need to be signed to the 53-man roster.
