It’s time to take a look at the most noteworthy moments from the world of MMA, and we have another edition of the daily roundup just for you to keep up with the latest headlines. We will start this compilation with the news of Conor McGregor, whose future seems uncertain to a UFC veteran following his pullout from the fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303.

Then, we will shift our focus to Chandler, who, despite getting his card scrapped, will be in attendance to witness UFC 303. Finally, our roundup ends with the Khamzat Chimaev, who’s struggling with medical issues. Former champion and UFC commentator Daniel Cormier believes ‘Borz’ may never be able to replicate the same high-level performances when he returns to action.

It’s been almost three years, and the fans were eager to see their favorite Irishman in action, but as it happened again, all the plans blew up following an undisclosed injury. Well, for some people, like Chael Sonnen, Conor McGregor’s alcohol usage may have caught up to him and he might be in rehab, and the UFC may be trying to hide that fact. But welterweight veteran Matt Brown believes the end of the road is here for ‘The Fighting Irish’.

“It didn’t shock me when I saw he was out of this fight. No, I’m still on that same train — he’s not ever coming back,” Matt Brown stated on MMA Fighting’s ‘Fighter vs Writer’. Nevertheless, the veteran, like the millions of Conor McGregor fans, is eager to see him back in action because the excitement he brings to the table is second to none. “I say the same thing I said before – I hope he proves me wrong. I hope I’m wrong [and] I would like to see Conor fight again.” Do you think McGregor is retired? Well, only time will tell. Now, let’s hear the story about Michael Chandler, who’s revealed his plans for UFC 303 weekend.

Michael Chandler will indeed attend the June 29 PPV

Almost two years and still waiting, we can’t help but feel bad for Michael Chandler, who’s been waiting on the sidelines for Conor McGregor. But now, after all the work he’s put in which went to waste, ‘Iron’ has revealed that he will be coming to Las Vegas and attending the UFC 303 pay-per-view. “Alex Pereira versus Jiri Prochazka…. just 6 days ago, it was McGregor versus Chandler. It’s my card,” Chandler stated in an Instagram video. Being the original fighter on that card, ‘Iron’ believes that, as per his contract, he’s obligated to be there.

“It was my card whenever I signed the bout agreement, signed my name to a piece of paper that said I would be at UFC 303. I made a promise. I made a commitment, and that commitment still stands,” Chandler added. The 38-year-old has the right to be angry with Conor McGregor for making him wait so long, to a certain extent, but given that the reason he’s out is an injury, there isn’t much he can say. What do you think? You can comment on that down below but after our last story, which involves Khamzat Chimaev.

There’s a crack in Khamzat Chimaev’s armor, claims Daniel Cormier

Since 2021, things have only gone down a downward spiral for the undefeated Emirati star, Khamzat Chimaev. While he missed weight for his fight against Nate Diaz, which was deemed unprofessional by many, ‘Borz’ also made UFC cancel a few bouts, including against Leon Edwards and, most recently, against Robert Whittaker. All of these pullouts and cancellations have taken place due to his dire medical issues, but that’s not what has led Daniel Cormier to believe that Chimaev is losing a lot of momentum. But because of his performance against Kamaru Usman at UFC 294.

“I always wonder if a guy can ride too hot when they first start. Can you fly too close to the sun? Because when Khamzat Chimaev started right, he was on Fight Island, he fought twice in one week, looked amazing… And then he goes in there with Kamaru Usman… it felt like because of the decision… seemed like in that victory, he lost a little bit of the lore that he had built around himself,” Cormier stated on the Good Guy/Bad Guy show.

We can’t say for sure what can happen after Khamzat Chimaev returns, but what we can say for sure is that he is nowhere close to announcing his retirement. What are your thoughts about the statement made by Cormier? Drop your views in the comments below.
