Jorge Masvidal is about to face Nate Diaz on July 6th. The former BMF champion was released by the UFC after he was defeated by Gilbert Burns back in 2023, but wait, was it the real truth? Why would the promotion give up on one of its sassiest stars? Well, the reality is completely different from what the general populace might be thinking.

What excites you the most about Jorge Masvidal’s confirmed UFC return?

His outspoken personality

Masvidal revealed in a conversation with Michael Bisping that he is still in contract with the promotion and the UFC has allowed him to fight away from the promotion for 3 fights, “(After these three fights) back to the UFC. The UFC said one of the conditions is that I come back and do one (more) fight, so that’s the plan, come back definitely do another fight, and from there, check the landscape out, see if I’m staying in the UFC or more than likely I’ll be coming back to boxing.”

Well, he will be returning to UFC after he has clashed thrice in boxing. Now that we talk about boxing, there’s another news about Masvidal, but this time it’s about Ryan Garcia.

‘Gamebred’ gave his honest take on Ryan Garcia’s suspension

Ryan Garcia’s victory against Devin Haney turned into a disaster for him, as he was found guilty of substance usage. After the reality struck, the commission scrapped his victory. New York State Athletic Commission even fined a hefty $10,000 fine against him. Well, these punishments were not enough as the commission has now banned him from fighting for a year.

Things are looking pretty harsh for him amid this hubbub, Jorge Masvidal has come forward in favor of Garcia. “That seems a little harsh and he had to pay a crazy amount of money. You know, but, New York is a very like…Not just strict, but, like, over the top place in a way. If it’s a tainted supplement, it straight-up sucks,” claimed Masvidal.

Jorge Masvidal is asked about Ryan Garcia and his punishment:

JM: That seems a little harsh and he had to pay a crazy amount of money. You know, but, New York is a very like…

Kyle: Strict

He added, “That’s why in my UFC career for nine years when we had USADA, I just wouldn’t take a lot of supplements… I wouldn’t take anything till those [UFC’s approval] came out. I wasn’t trying to get popped. You got to be careful, you got so much money on the risk.”

Garcia’s legal team might have a say on this, but as of now, there have been no developments in this. Regardless, let us move forward to Conor McGregor.

Conor Mcgregor’s return date laid out by Jon Anik

Conor McGregor was supposed to make a comeback at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. However, the former dual-weight champion had to pull out of the clash because of a toe injury. After the UFC 303 fiasco, McGregor, in a BKFC event, announced that he would be returning to the Octagon around September. However, how much truth is in his statement? Well, according to UFC insider Jon Anik, McGregor will for sure return to the Octagon this year with a bang.

“I’ve been waxing optimistic about Conor for a long time. I fully expect him to compete in 2024, to come back at a high level. Fight twice in eight months. I know it sounds ridiculous and super ambitious to some people, but I just know the mixed martial arts athlete is in there, and I just remain hopeful that he’s going to come back and make more of an impact than anyone expects that he will,” Jon Anik said on the 2024 UFC Hall of Fame red carpet.

Conor McGregor’s return might take some time, however, one thing’s for sure, and that’s the fact that it will be gigantic. What’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
