As a first step towards becoming a martial artist, ‘The Notorious’ announced that his son earned his maiden stripe on his white belt and shared a video of the initiation by his coach on Instagram.

“My son [Conor McGregor Jr.] getting the first stripe on his jiu jitsu belt at [SBG Ireland],” wrote Conor McGregor. In a light-hearted and proud manner, the former double champion also stated that there were scouts from the UFC just to witness his son’s achievement. “The [UFC] are already here with their team and big cameras on a scouting mission haha,” McGregor added. It remains to be seen if MMA is what McGregor Jr. goes for as he grows up.

A Russian star has handed Dana White a Performance Institute request

Ahead of his big-time lightweight title defense, the pride of Dagestan, Islam Makhachev, sat down for an interview, where he talked about his training and how much he loves the UFC’s Performance Institute in Las Vegas, where he claims that everything a fighter needs is abundantly available. Given that there has been an influx of fighters from Russia, Makhachev is hoping to see Dana White and co. would take the initiative to build one Performance Institute in his native country.

“I love the UFC Performance Institute. I hope they will open in Russia one more because… this is especially for the fighters. They have everything. You can come and do your job. A lot of coaches, nutritionists, you can bring your team. They have a lot of space for everybody,” Islam Makhachev stated.
