Tuesday’s Forecast:
Tuesday is another hot and humid day with more storms expected. Temperatures rise to the lower and mid-90s under partly cloudy skies. Afternoon thunderstorms are expected to form and possibly be strong. Our western cities have a chance for severe weather. The line is west of Huntsville, The Woodlands and Katy. East and south of this line, storms will be isolated. Make sure you are weather ready! Our main concern is damaging winds 60mph +.
Tracking the tropics:
Next week we’re tracking the tropics. There is deep tropical moisture in the Caribbean Sea that will be moving toward Florida tomorrow through Friday. While this isn’t expected to become a named storm, it’s expected to flood to parts of the state. The forecast becomes tricky Saturday. The latest data has a wide range of options of what this low looks like in Gulf this weekend. The American model has a tropical storm possibly forming and affecting Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi Sunday and Monday. The European model keeps this a large area of disorganized rain. The Euro has heavy rain moving into Southeast Texas Sunday night and possibly lasting through Tuesday. Rain totals in this scenario could get up to 6″. This is a good reminder you don’t need a named storms for it to flood. Another good reminder is when there is this much discrepancy in the weather models, the accuracy is low. This is why we tell you we are always watching. This outcome is far from determined.
10-Day Forecast:
Friday through most of Sunday will be extremely hot and humid, but dry. Depending on what happens with this tropical moisture, rain may stick around most of of next week.
