BOSTON (WPRI) — New England’s largest Pride festival and parade took place in Boston on Saturday with over 300 groups and 10,000 participants involved.

The event started at Copley Square, went up and down the streets of Boston before ending at Boston Common.

More than one million people were at the event.

“No matter your age, your identity, your gender expression, here in Massachusetts you are welcome,” said Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, America’s first lesbian governor, at the raising of the Pride flag on the Statehouse lawn earlier this week.

“We see you, we hear you, we love you, we stand with you, we will always fight for you.”
