BALTIMORE, Md. (April 26, 2026)–The Morgan State women’s tennis team will find out who its first-round opponent will be in the 2026 NCAA Tennis Championships on Monday during the NCAA selection show.

The selection show will air on Monday, April 27, beginning at 4:30 p.m., online at www.ncaa.com. The team will have a viewing party inside the game/arcade room in the University Student Center.

The Lady Bears (15-7) won their third Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title in school history and the first since 2018, following a thrilling 4-3 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday in Cary, N.C.

Amira Bargaoui led the Lady Bears with 14 singles wins and is currently on a 10-match winning streak, which ranks second on the team. She improved to 8-2 at No. 3 singles after battling back from a 5-1 deficit in the championship match to win six consecutive games and earn a 7-5 victory, giving the Lady Bears the 4-3 win.

A native of Tunis, Tunisia Bargaoui collected first-team All-MEAC and MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.

Along with Bargaoui, a total of five Lady Bears received all-tournament team honors. Michaela Stephens, Tyler Williams, Lauryn Hall and Bargaoui all earned all-tournament honors in singles. Julia Jeffrey and Stephens also earned all-tournament team honors at No. 2 doubles. Morgan State head coach Matthew Townes was named Tournament Most Outstanding Coach.

During the selection show, the 64 teams competing in the team bracket will be announced. Fans will be able to stream the show here.

This season, Auburn is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to the latest ITA rankings (April 21). Georgia, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Ohio State round out the current top five.

The first and second rounds of the 2026 tournament will be held at a minimum of 16 sites, with four teams at each site. Thirty conference champions receive automatic qualification into the team championships.

The University of Georgia will host the semifinals and the national championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. A national champion will be determined on May 17, 2026.
