Westchester County has had some of the most fatalities in New York between Christmas and New Year’s, according to a report released by TruckInfo.net.

Using data sourced from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, TruckInfo.net has compiled a list of the most dangerous roads to travel on nationally and statewide as well as how many fatalities each county experienced between Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 from 2003-2022.

Here’s what to know.

Most dangerous NY roadways between Christmas and New Year’s

Here’s which roads in New York had three fatalities between Christmas and New Year’s from 2003-2022, according to TruckInfo.net:

  • Genesee Street in Erie County
  • Hillside Avenue in Queens County
  • I-95 Cross Bronx Expressway in Bronx County
  • Peninsula Boulevard in Nassau County
  • Rockaway Boulevard in Queens County
  • Rockaway Parkway in Kings County
  • State Route 17A in Orange County
  • State Route 20A in Wyoming County
  • State Route 22 in Dutchess County
  • State Route 24 in Nassau County
  • State Route 27 in Suffolk County

Most dangerous NY counties to drive in between Christmas and New Year’s

New York had 511 fatalities between Christmas and New Year’s from 2003-2022, according to TruckInfo.net. Here’s which counties had the most:

  • Suffolk County: 60
  • Kings County: 62
  • Queens County: 40
  • Nassau County: 36
  • Erie County: 30
  • Westchester County: 26
  • Bronx County: 24
  • Orange County: 20
  • New York County: 18
  • Monroe, Niagara and Oneida counties: 12

Here’s which roadways had the most fatalities nationwide between Christmas and New Year’s from 2003-2022, according to TruckInfo.net:

  • I-15 in San Bernardino County, California: 33
  • I-10 in Riverside County, California: 17
  • US-19 in Pasco County, Florida: 14
  • I-10 in San Bernardino, California: 14
  • I-5 in Los Angeles County, California: 14
  • I-84 in Umatilla County, Oregon: 12
  • I-5 in Fresno County, California: 12
  • I-5 in San Diego County, California: 12
