The Miami Hurricanes got the win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last week, but it was costly. Head coach Mario Cristobal announced Monday on WQAM that wide receiver Joshua Moore and running back CharMar Brown both suffered season-ending injuries in the game.
While he did not disclose what the injury to Brown was, he revealed that Moore has an “upper-body” injury. They were not the only two players injured in the game, linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin Jr. has a “lower-body” injury and is expected to miss a few weeks, according to Cristobal.

Brown entered the game as the No. 2 running back behind star Mark Fletcher. He finished the season with 13 carries for 97 yards and one touchdown. The redshirt junior also caught two passes for 12 yards. He was an important piece for them during the 2025 season, recording 122 carries for 474 yards and seven touchdowns and catching 20 passes for 138 yards and two more scores.
Moore has been a key part of Miami’s passing attack and was enjoying a breakout season, catching seven passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns. The Miami native played in 14 games last season as a freshman, finishing with 17 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns.
Marcelin was also enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign after primarily contributing on special teams last year. His nine tackles were tied for the third most on the team, and Cristobal was planning on him taking on a bigger role moving forward. He played in 10 games last season, registering two tackles.
Miami (3-0, 2-0 ACC) will return to action on Saturday when they host the Central Michigan Chippewas at Hard Rock Stadium. The game is set to kick off at 6:60 p.m. ET and will air on The CW.
