WASHINGTON, March 3, 2025 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — National Children’s Center’s Early Learning and Early Intervention Center (ELC) proudly supports the Read Across America campaign, kicking off on Monday, March 3, 2025, with a reading session at 10:00 am at 3400 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, WDC.

Located in the heart of Congress Heights, this exciting event will feature a Storytime session with Abria Law, a former ELC student, and her mother, Ward 8 SBOE Representative LaJoy Johnson-Law. Together, they will read and engage the children in a celebration of literacy and imagination, marking the beginning of a fun-filled week of reading activities.

Following the Storytime session, Charlene Polk, Family Engagement Manager, will continue with a Spirit Week celebration from March 3 to 7, offering additional reading opportunities for community partners and parents to engage with students and encourage the joy of reading.

The ELC is dedicated to fostering a love of reading and literacy through engaging activities and community support for children of all abilities. Terrance King, NCC President and CEO, said, “Reading creates a space for imagination and helps children see that endless possibilities await them—children can laugh, feel the excitement, and become inspired.” We encourage all families, leaders, and children’s authors to participate in this exciting week of events as we kick off Read Across America month with a blast!

For more information on the week’s events or to get involved, please contact [email protected].
