How Do Teams, Runners Qualify For NCAA D2 Cross Country National Championship?
For men’s and women’s, the top three teams in each regional — there are eight in total — automatically qualify for the championships, which equates to 24 automatic qualifiers.
The NCAA DII Cross Country Committee will then choose 10 at-large teams to fill out the 34 team field.
Individually, the first two finishers who do not belong to an automatic qualifier or an at-large team automatically advance to the championships. All individuals who finish in the top five at the regional meet will also automatically advance.
The next eight individuals will be selected at-large.
