Although the Division III is pretty consistent compared to last week in some way, there were some surprises that happened on the field that are reflected in the rankings for this upcoming week.
Every team in the top five won its games to keep them in the respective spots, except for Wisconsin-River Falls and a loss to No. 11 Wisconsin-Platteville while being the No. 5 ranked team. Essentially both teams would swap places, except for UW-Platteville, which moved up to No. 6, just falling short of the top five.
Keeping things in Wisconsin, the upset of the week is unranked. Wisconsin-Stout beating No. 8 at the time Wisconsin-Whitewater with a two-point victory to make the Warhawks drop 15 spots, which is going to be hard to make up as we get closer down the stretch.
Hardin-Simmons is the newest team in the top five with a team-defining win against in-state rival Mary Hardin Baylor, making the Crusaders and lose ground in the rankings being replaced by Springfield as they come off the bye week now ranked at No. 25 for the game against MIT.
